One of the oldest zoo in Nigeria, Ogba Zoo was established in the year 1915. It covers an area of 20 hectares and is about 6 kilometres from the city centre. The zoo boasts of a range of exotic birds like Peacocks. There are also a number of animals like Zebra, Lion, Monkeys, Chimpanzees and Antelopes in the zoo.
Ogba Zoo also boasts of a refreshment centre, an outdoor and indoor event facilities, as well as an extensive landscaped ground. The space is open to use for various events like anniversaries, wedding parties and corporate retreats. Tourists are allowed accessed to a number of recreational facilities including donkey, camel and horse rides. The zoo is open between 9:00 AM to 6 PM daily.
The entrance fee at Ogba Zoo is 100 Naira for adults and 50 Naira for children. If you make a reservation in advance or as a group, you can enjoy special discount offers.
